Style Confidence
Style is living life!

No More Pigeonholing!

Adults are no longer expected to wear “sensible” clothing.

When brushing up against middle age unflattering terminology such as “mid-life” or

just plain old, have long since been outdated when defining the over 40’s.

 Whilst most 35 – 40’s think of themselves as 28, most 41 – 45’s feel in their early 30’s.

Men and women in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and upwards, wear the same clothing brands

as their children and shop alongside them in stores.

Who’s borrowing from whose wardrobe?

The goal now is to adapt a personal style, to express uniqueness, and

with “fashion” being less dictated, this goal is achievable for all.

“I was unwise enough to be photographed in bed wearing a Chinese dressing gown, as an expression

of enhanced degeneracy. I indulged in silk shirts, pyjamas and underclothes ……..

coloured turtleneck jerseys ……… and started a fashion”.

Noel Coward in 1924

Age is a state of mind!

Whether in their 20’s, 50’s, 80’s or beyond,

men and women have new role models, and their age doesn’t occur to you.

It no longer matters!

Today’s men and women are not afraid to find their style and be creative with it, expressing their individuality.

 Anything goes!

Who do you admire for their style? Is it because it’s immaculately put together?

Is it because it’s creative and a little wild? Or is it because it shows a sense of complete confidence?

Confidence is the key!

Be confident in your style and the world will admire,

and even envy you for it.

Thoughts and Ruminations

Lapel Pin Envy!

I love seeing lapel pin brooches
all finished in their organza bags,
with the Tie Lilys CatcH hangtag.

Packaging is important,
after all it is the finishing touch.
These are now bagged
and ready to be wrapped.

I wonder what outings
these lapel pins will go on.
What special occasions they will attend.
Lapel pin envy!
I think I shall plan an outing ..........
but for now, a nice cup of tea will do.

Inspiration for new accessories

Inspiring Tea

My usual tea of preference is green jasmine, but variety is the spice of life so today I tried a chocolate chai blend. I must admit I didn't think I would like it. What a surprise!
It is warm, with a little spice, and a definite hint of chocolate, and I love it. Will be perfect for Christmas time, although this packet may not last that long now it has been discovered.

So my warming, spicy, chocolaty liquid gold, made me think of this rich luscious corduroy, waiting to be transformed into cosy cravat scarfs for the upcoming season. My tea has inspired me to move them to the top of the list.

Aztec Beauty!

The hat will have an Aztec patterned tip and burnished red corduroy crown

I decided on a much more colourful pattern for my next smoking cap.
The fabric design has an Aztec look, and I think it goes really well with the burnished red corduroy.

Can't wait to see it finished!

Well here it is all finished! An Aztec beauty in warm Autumn colours.
